our story

how it started | how it's going

swoon studio + co began with a simple love of sewing... and dogs. what started as a side biz selling dog bandanas (but not just any dog bandana... thankyouverymuch , the swoony-reversible-indie-artist-designed-handmade and comfy kind... I digress) — quickly blossomed into something much bigger.

as I vended at markets and formed new friendships and admiration for all of the local small businesses and artists all around me, I knew I had found my space and a community - and - while selling at markets, customers often asked about workshops and expressed interest in learning to sew and my lifelong dream of opening a creative space began to feel possible.

when I first stepped into our space in historic folsom, I was looking for a space to sew and teach, but instead I knew immediately it was meant to be more than just a studio. I envisioned a place where I could make and showcase not only my work but also the incredible talents of the amazing maker community I’d grown to admire—a curated collection of independent artists both local and from across the country.

our space

today, swoon studio + co is a thoughtfully curated indie goods shop, creative workshop studio and community events space. our front shop welcomes you with an eclectic mix of indie artist goods—from pet goods and self-care items to jewelry, plants, art, art kits, books, and home goods. our shelves feature hand-poured candles, handmade pottery, unique greeting cards, cozy blankets, and countless other items that celebrate creativity and inspire creative living.

beyond the shop, our workshop space serves as both a working studio and a community creative hub. Here, I continue to create my work but now alongside others, hosting workshops and events that invite everyone to tap into their creative potential. this is where the community gathers to learn new skills, share techniques, and celebrate the joy of making.
